Pretzel is a very popular type of bread, mainly widespread in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol. Depending on the region, it is also called Laugenbrezel, Pretzel, Pretzl, Breze or Brezn.
The ingredients of Pretzel are soft wheat flour, malt, brewer’s yeast and water, as well as sodium bicarbonate. In some regions, fat or whole-wheat flour or other cereals are also added.
To date, in addition to bread-type Brezel, Brezel snack, dry and crunchy, has also established itself on the market.
